Mike has been instrumental in the delivery of the Specialist Populations Program with the Professional Golfers  Association in Victoria. This program gives professionals the tools to deliver specialist golf program's at their facilities.

Mike presented to our distribution team on the back of a full day. He really engaged the team and took them out of their everyday lives to hear about his incredible story, but more importantly, learn from it. Mike was extremely engaging and funny but really made us all reflect on what matters, how to handle change and take on new challenges. Your calm, humorous and understated approach engages those that you meet and belies the enormously strong and resilient person that you clearly are.
 
Your story brought many of us back to the reality that we are and we can be whatever we want to be. Faced with very significant challenges, you chose to fight to overcome them and you are pressing on to pursue your hopes and your dreams.   
 
The random nature of the virus that struck you down made many of us think about the importance of living every day to the full and to thus avoid any future need for regret.
 
The family thread in your story was something that many of the team also commented on. Those with strong family ties questioned whether they appreciated their family enough; and a number of us who were more family distant were challenged to re-assess, re-connect and rebuild on some family relationships that we have let drift.
 
Another key message that we all took, was that of ”letting go of the baggage”. The manner in which you linked into that theme was the most confronting (positively) and emotional way I have ever seen it done. Many of us parents had “watery” eyes at that stage of your presentation.
 
As you can tell, our team took much from what you had to say. On behalf of the team I will summarise by saying we think you are living proof of the incredible power of the human spirit and the way that you approach life is a lesson for us all.

Mike is a fantastic speaker and everyone was enthralled by his story.
Mike’s warmth, authenticity and generosity was completely inspiring as he shared about how meningococcal meningitis impacted his life resulting in the loss of his legs.
